Visual Novels are a form of entertainment akin to a cross between graphic novels and choose your own adventure stories. Ren’Py is one of the leading open source platforms for creating these visual novels and runs on the powerful and widely used programming language Python. This platform is not only used to create visual novels but complex role-playing video games as well. In this course, we will be designing a cross between a visual novel and a video game in which the students go on a quest and decide the progress using imagination and the knowledge acquired by these programs. At the end of this course, students will have explored the extensive capabilities of Python and the skills they learn will largely be applicable to all its areas.
